RE: 1988 Mustang GT stalling problem need help
Also think about converting to Mass Air, it allows you to run much better mods as far as somethings.
Also check out the distributor, i almost broke down and purchased a new ECU but it could be anything along the ignition line if it rolls over, but also make sure your MAP sensor and other things are clean. I have an 89 so some things are different but that's one of those things you should do like oil changes.
Then as long as it's getting good start up but dies out after a bit it's also possible your ICM (igntion control module) could be bad, I suggest you buy something with a lifetime warranty as it's one of those things that if it's broke down you will love to have a "free replacement" as they run usually 80+

try replacing the ignition module. mine done the same thing ( 88 gt). running fine until i came to a stop light and it died. wouldnt restart for a minute or two.it would just turn over and over. finally got it started and stopped at a store and come back out andstarted it up again and it stalled after about five seconds. finally replaced the ignitionmodule and havent had a problem since. hope this helps, later
