it was the headlight switch, the wire was like eaten through...so they got a new wire, sodered it and all, and did the same for 11 other wires (12 total) they were all crappy and would have given out eventually.

I had the same problem with my headlights. The harness had melted up at the multipurpose switch and melted the connector too. It was a pain to fix, a couple hours of running new wires and had to find a parts car to pull the connector and end of the harness out of. The reason it burns up isusing thefoglights causes to much of a load and the harness burns up.

i can't even use my foglights cause if i do, after about 20 minutes, everything shuts off; the fogs, the headlights, the parking lights

I still dont see why you cant do the work yourself.... its not like replacing a switch is hard.. or installing lights...

hell, the brake line is a 25 minute job

well i'm a college kid, and live at school...i come home on the weekends to work/work on my car...so while i am at school, i leave it at the shop for whatever/if any repairs need to be done...its easier for me, and i know the guys there (i used to work there) so i am getting good work and they take care of me $ wise...why not get it done professionally instead of cramming 3 or 4 different things into one weekend for me?

it's just easier...

and i know installing lights is easy, i have done it numerous times and many different cars...but again, i was at school, so i had them do it for me

Some people just don't want to work on there cars even if they know how. If he wants to pay someone to install his parts that fine, no need to give him a hard time about it. Working on cars is a pita no matter what your doing, some people just don't want to do it.
