Straight through exhaust

RE: Straight through exhaust
When I had my exhaust apart after swapping the trans, I decided to fire it up just for the hell of it. Sounded like *** at idle. Revved it a couple of times and it still sounded like ***. Bolted the cat-back back on and it mellowed it out and sounds nice, while still loud on the throttle.
And yes, yours being a stock engine also makes it alot quieter. I have the same exhaust that was on my car when it had a stock 5.0L and it was pretty quiet then. It really woke up when I swapped the heads, cam, and intake.

if your looking to do dumps and keep tail pipes get the mufflers with the caps on the one side, you take off 3 wing nuts and you have dumps for the track. when its time to cruise put the caps back on and now ur through tail pipes.

RE: Straight through exhaust
change your headers. summit shorties for 99 bucks. or i recomend summit ceramic shorties and i got those for 250. but if you lookin for some major sound, Long tubes will really shake the ground for you, (and it doesnt help that your motor is stock.)

just disconnect everything past past the headers... piping, cats, mufflers. That was a joke I did that one day and oh my god. That thing sounded like it was a true dragster it was rediculous.

my car, when i disconnected the catback (flowmaster 3 chambers) cause i was bored...sounded like a BEASTTT with the shorties and o/r x...nothing like *** or like a truck, it was amazing..
but just get the SLP loudmouth catback, that's what i'm getting. it sounds amazing.

Yeah, I'm saving for h/c/i
I don't think some of y'all understood, if I do straight through I want it out the back with my stock stainless steel tips, but I aslo want to be able to change out the straight pipe for mufflers with just a few bolts and it still be out the back.
I might pick up a set of those summit shorties, summit is only 1 hour away.

Ok... Maybe if I tell you not to click HERE, you'll actually go look it up this time...
edit: and running "open headers" through tail pipes kinda defeats the purpose...
