I have a 1995 GT and I just replaced the altenator after it died at the inspection place. Still the voltage charge meter on the dash is just right about 8 and when I turn on headlights and start to head out in the morning the gauges start diming and the meter slowly drops below 8. I just bought a new battery about 3 weeks ago so it probably is not the battery. Need help bad only car for school thanks in advance.

sometimes right out of the box expecially autozone alternators don't work worth a shyt!!!! might also check the charge wire and or connections and all grounds
