Default Did something today I haven't done in a long time!

Worked on my car in the driveway[&:] Something I try to avoid at all costs!![:@]

Stayed after work to do some maint on my dd. Got home, there was a box from Summit on the porch.I ordered a Mr. Gasket t-stat and some water wetter from Redline. Last trip to the track yielded higher temps than I would like. (210, not all that bad but higher than I'm comfortable with) After 3 hot-laps I pulled into the pits and had some a/f blow out of my overflow.

So tonight after I got home from work, I slapped in the stat and added the water wetter. Made a big difference although I'm not sure what was more the fix, the new 180 stat, the water wetter or the combination of the two. Generally the car runs at 195, (old stat was a 180 also) Now the car runs between 165-180. Just where I want it.[8D]

Hopefully the next trip to the track will be w/o incedent form the cooling system. Well, for anything else for that matter.

I didn't think that was a burnout pic in your sig. Thats all the coolant coming out the tail pipe isn't it.

I put one of those high flow mr gasket t-stats in a friends 68 cougar and before it had a stant 180 and it always ran at 195 but with the mr gasket stat the car now runs bwtween 175 and 185....those stats are awsome!!!...I'll be using one soon when I do my aluminum radiator set up

You know, there's def some validity to that statement. I had a stant in it before, and it ran at 195. I used to make fun of 2kwik, he would always preach those stats and I would razz him about it. He was def right though!!!
