Default not fireing on all cylinders!!

my 5.0 isnt fireing on #6 or 8 it has compression and spark do you think its not getting enough spark??i have a new carb distributor cap and rotor and spark plugs on the way do yall think this might fix my prob??

How do you know its not firing on 6 and 8?

Simple I pulled the plug wire off of all of them one at a time and they were the only ones that didnt effected the sound of the engine

Check the firing order and the plugs. Another thing to check will be the cap.

Start basic, check the cap, plugs, and wires first. I also see you have msd. It could be a problem with the box itself.

Make sure the wires are good, and that they seated in the cap and on the plug. Spark plugs are easy to check, just swap one in from a cylinder that is firing.

It wouldn't hurt to check the compression on those two cylinders if the new stuff doesn't help.

I had the same problem last week, my number 6 cylinder I believe was missing really bad, and I had just put new plugs in last month so i checked the wires and low and behold the wire was on the header which burnt right through it. So check the wires and plugs.
