rear gears

Default rear gears

looking into gettingrear gears done on the stang - 3:73's for my auto... im not sure how to put them in so looked into it with a guy who has done work for me before... he gave me a price of 320 for the parts and 300 for labor... does this sound about right?

$320 for gears is too much. You can buy FRPP gears for over $100 less. I would ask around for better price's for labor labor also, or save the money and do it yourself.

but you have an auto, which is geared differently than a manual, so you can get away with the 4:10s on an auto...410s auto=373s manual..or so i've read on here

yeah, ive heard 4:10'S kill manuals on the highway, but the 4th gear is less than 5th on a manual, so it works, somethin like that

I have 4.10's in my 91 and it's a 5-spd.. I can still drive it on long trips and achieve about 18mpg's as long as I stay at 70mph or below. And it's fully built.

I think I am going to opt for 3.55's or 3.73's in my 94 though.
