Well.. since nothing on the car really matched.. I figured me and a buddy would give a go at doing a DIY paint job in the garage/driveway.. so over the last few days I stripped the car down with an electric sander, washed it off, sprayed it, wet sanded, washed it off, sprayed it, etc.. till tonight we finally feel satisfied. It was all krylon rust tough dark grey primer.. I plan on clear coating it in the near future, but dont have time to finish before we go to the track on friday evening.
The hood I got for free from a buddy..looks like hell since it was bent and was rusted most the way through.. but its better than no hood for the time being.







what do you guys think for 40 bucks and a couple evenings from a pair of amatures? A whole lot better than when we pulled it out of the field. lol

Don't mess with a stang in primer.....the owner would rather put it in the engine rather than looks(now it time to make it faster to back it up!!)

I always liked the primer look for some reason...

its come a long ways in a month... cleaned the top end and all new gaskets, fuel pump, alt, water pump, battery, some other parts...

not to bad i primed mine in about 2 hours and its been holding up great over he passed 4 months. i would recomend putting a flate grey paint over the primer you would be amazed at how hard it is to keep clean it sucks

im thinking after i go to the track this friday that I may go ahead and clearcoat it.. htat should help with the getting dirty part and make it even smoother.. but its hard to make that stuff look even [&:]

just put a couple coats of flat black or flat grey they make it. it looks the same but a lot cleaner and then clear it

Primer holds moisture and will cause rust, so clear coat or paint will help

Theres just something about a mustang in primer with draglites. That just screams BADA$$..
