Just break the sucker in half!!! Mine didn't want to come off either, so I got a big pair of pliers and squeezed it till it broke in half... I was just going to throw it in the trash anyway.

i have to admit im with adder on this one, it only took maybe 30 mins for my quadrant and cable and i have a 88 fox. i pushed the pedal all the way down, looked at the small plastic peice and saw it has a flat side, then i turned it till the flat side was facing me, then i pried it off the pedal assyembly and it squeezed by the bracket on my car and my friends 86. he called me after he couldnt figure out how to get the thing off and i poped it right out in five min. it ended up falling out behind the bracket and all you have to do is reach back and grab it out of there.
