Default question about a hardtop...

I'm looking for some info on a hardtop for a 1994 Mustang Cobra. Did they make a removable hardtop? Can you get one? Thanks for any info.

i know the 95 did. i think they made 499 of them. there was one for sale here in IA not too long ago. they wanted 21k for it but it had some mods on it like exhaust, wheels, tires, intake....but it came with all the stock stuff as well and only have 14k miles on it

forgive me for being Mustang illiterate but I take it you can't buy just a "removable hardtop" for a 1994 Cobra? Thanks. I'm trying to gather info for my dad.

no one that i know makes it. you need to find one of those 499 cobras and try to buy it from the owner or maybe a wrecked out. or if you know a GOOD body shop you can pay for them to fab one from a true hardtop junkyard stang but that will be losts of $$$

I've never heard of being able to buy just the hard top. Unless your car was a factory '95 Cobra with the hardtop you're not going to be able to attach it anyway I wouldn't think.

i know a guy here who carbon fibers and fiberglasses for a living. he said it would be damn hard to fab one up without plans and i doubt you can just go online and get plans like that. probly want to find a factory removable hard top....but trust me they are a pretty penny. i was told the one i talked about above was "cheap" for what it is.

Description:
A collector’s item that is sure to go up in value!

As you know 1995 was the last year of the 5.0L engine…….
It was also the ONE AND ONLY year Ford made a HARD TOP cobra convertible.
Ford produced only 499 of these and this is one of them!

This is an ULTRA RARE car which is sure to go up in value.

One web site lists it as #50 on the top 100 Rarest Mustangs (based on production numbers). I have the link, but if you Google TOP 100 RAREST MUSTANGS you will find it. Review the list and you will see just what a great car you have the opportunity to purchase.

I looked long and hard for this car and the only reason I am selling this is because we need the money to pay off some medical bills. It is a great, dependable driver that is a blast to drive. I bought this car a year ago from a businessman in North Carolina. He put tons of miles on it (over 180K) but it drives and responds as if it had less than 100K miles on her. I personally have put less than 900 miles on her since I brought her to Texas. I only take her out on sunny days about once a month just to keep her happy. In addition to the removable hard top there is an electric soft top that folds down behind the back seat. Other than an aftermarket exhaust system, tires and car battery she is 100% original. The few cars I have seen like mine had weird modifications like Roll Bars, updated Hoods, Rear lights and Rears Bumpers. I can appreciate how RARE this car is and would not think of changing the original appearance of the car, but that’s just me.

Included with the 1995 Cobra is the OEM Hard top, the OEM Ford Video Tape instructing proper removal of the Hard Top, OEM Soft Top Cover, Ford’s 1995 Cobra Sales Brochure, SVT Certificates for both the Cobra build 911/1003 and the Hartop Cobra build 412/499, a burned Promotional DVD FORD used to educate their salesman on the 1995 SVT COBRA, the hard top storage cover and the OEM Hard Top stand.

Feel free to call or email me with questions, but I WILL NOT drop the asking price or consider trades so don’t waste our time by asking.

REASON FOR SALE: Please e-mail.

this comes from http://www.ponytrader.com/viewlisting.php?view=974

95 cobra is the only year these were made. only 499 were made. you cannot just buy a hardtop either(but im sure they have to be out there somewhere!)
