89 GT Convertible...What's it worth?
I found a 89 GT Convertible 5-speedwith less than 9,000 miles and am considering buying it. Anybody know what a fair price would be?

hard call.
almost new condition due to miles, but probably a salvage title.
if it drives straight and looks as good as it sounds, i wouldn't hesitate to cough up 10k on it.
i paid 8.5k for my 89 gt vert with 81k on it

Without the salvage title that car could easily sell for $15,000. But salvage titled cars typically are worth 40-50% less. I'm not a fan of salvaged titled cars, but the low miles on this one make it attractive. Considering the low miles, $7500 would be a fair offer. Be sure to put it on a lift and check it out thoroughly. If the repairs are done well then take a chance.
BTW, I'm a Chuck too...

Thanks Chuck
The car is located 350 miles from me. My brother drove it and it does have some issues. Their is a shake in the front end, might be tires, the doors don't fit and their is a lot of wind noise. One of the local body shops says it needs to be put on a frame machine to take care of the door fit problem. With further investigation it was sandwiched (hit from the rear and hit another car in front). They say it can be made right but would probably cost up to $2000 to fix. The body work just wasn't done right........... it should have been put on the frame machine. The speedometer doesn't work but the odometer does. It runs great other than that. I think I can buy it for $4000 or less which might not be a bad deal if it can be made right. -- Chuck
