I paid $4000 for mine 2 years and 4 months ago. The car looked near perfect and I didn't think it needed much at all. The only thing I did was put a smaller carburetor on it because the 650 was too much. They said the engine was rebuilt, but I found out later it wasn't when it blew a head gasket. The paint was also a cheapo job and is starting to flake in places.

Overall though I'm very happy with the Mustang! Since the blown head gasket I tossed the E7 heads some idiot put on it, put a better cam in it, better intake, roller rockers, and a few other things. The bottom end is still stock with 138K on it. There wasn't enough ridge on the cylender walls to make it worth pulling out and rebuilding. It's just broke in. *wink*

I also got a new radio and some other sound stuff, I don't know alot about this part. It sounds good so I'm happy. =]

There are still things to be done. The drivers side window dosen't roll up and down good, theres a rust hole in the floor, I need to put the new Taylor wires on, fix the console, and other nit-picky stuff.

The Mustang is my favorite color of blue. I'm in love.

I paid 2k for mine about 5 years ago from a great friend. 1988 5.0 automatic around 130k miles it had on it. i am 2nd owner. so far normal fixes nothing major. upgrades are air intake, headers, exhaust and recently new 17x9 black cobra replicas with tires obviously. great dependable car i would say. good luck with yours if get one.
