hay yall just wandering wat the top speed would be for my 1985 mustang stock 5.0 5 speed convertible 145,000 miles on it short throw shifter new tires and a 4 barrel carb new air filter from k&n
im racing a piece of **** rice burner and he says his is 140 but i think i can beat him
tell me what you guys think

I wouldn't drive a old fox body that fast, with that said I would guess around 125-130mph.

Why not??? I've had mine up close to 130 no problem some fool in a 1/2 ton chevy truck thought he'd try to slip around me in the slow lane after tailgating me!!!!! ha showed that NeRB!!!!

My guess on the top speed is close to 140 but you'd need one heck of a straight away cause to get mine to 130 thetrip from 120 up to 130 starts to slow down then wham I was out of safe braking distance on the straight so had to slow down plus you never no when somebody will decide to switch lanes on you.. not safe unless you have a open circle track

the efi foxbodys can get mid 140s. Not sure how fast urs is i'm guessing 15 less hp = high 130s? maybe low 140s.

according to an online gear calculator i had mine at 152, but i don't really think that's possible b/c I was basically stock at the time.

If your friends car is newer it probably is governed way before that speed. It would help if said exactly what car it is.

he has a geo storm its registerd only 120mph he thinks
just because mine says 85mph thats all it can domine has 210 hp its also a 5 speed witha short throw shifter
