On my 2.3 Turbo it has a 3" high flow cat, after 10 minuted of driving it a little hard but not too much, the exhaust maniflod glows red. I asked this in the 2.3 section but didn't get a straight answer, i know you guys know more.

kina sounds like thats it, the heat is building up in front of the cat.. did you just install the cat?? has it ever done it before??
i was shown that you can go under the car and knock the exhaust and it should sound hollow and when you knock the cat it should be hollow sounding too, but if the cat sounds solid then its plugged... i dont know how accurate this is but its something that i was shown and it might help

Get rid of the cats = easy fix

It is about 4-5 years old but only has about 5K on it, but it still sits a lot so maybe from sitting. I had everything welded thats what sucks. If you guys think its the cat I will just buy a new one

could be running lean when is the last time you changed the fuel filter???
but I would go check the cat first
