The only way to really get them off expecially if it's the gt halo headrests is take the seat out and take the back off and unzip the fabric where the zipper is at the bottom and try and reach up there with a screw driver to pop the release as shown.......however I had to remove the fabric and pull back the foam to get to it but then again I was replacing the covers anyway!!!

thats not true, mine are adjustable, they go up and down a few clicks, ,like 2 if i remember right

Great write up but the halo headrests on 84-86 seats are fixed and don't pull up so you have to get to the release from inside or risk tearing the fabric and or scratching the halo headrests

Why am I not suprised that they are adjustable on your car
...and you won't get them out unless you do what I said......been there done that......do things right follow the instructions and all will come out right
