This time it's an '87 model GT convertible. I originally bought it for parts for my '85 that I'm redoing. But I got to pick it up sat. It looks like it's in pretty good shape. I almost hate to tear it down for parts[sm=boohoo.gif]. I'm actually hoping I find something major (like frame rust) wrong with it. It has no motor, trans, or dash, and it needs a new top. But I really need the doors off of it to replace my '85's, and the floorpans, and trans crossmember(double-hump), and the panel behind the drivers door, and the radiator support, and the 8.8 rear-end.
I can't keep the car as whole.... the wife will kill me. Because I told her I would part it out to make some of my money back on it. So if there ever was a song that got played when a mustang is ready to beput to rest..... it's goin' to be playin' soon. 'Cause as Queen says...."And another one bites the dust".
But on the good news... After I strip her down... I'll be that much closerto finishing my '85. And If anyone needs some parts for very reasonable prices just PM me. But wait on PM'ing me until next week.... Like I said "I gottagoget it Sat."

its a vert right? and the 85 is too? u do know vert doors arent the same...mirror placement, no top door frame...etc

Well... The '85 is my project. This one I'm buying to part out and use parts off of.(more than likely.)
And the mirrors are in the same spot as mine. So I should be able to just swap my glass into the doors and I think they'll work. I forgot to mention the '85 is a t-top car. So I don't need the frames on the doors anyways.
Yeah I defenitaly gave less than $1000 for it. I'll get a better look at it on Sat. I'm looking at adding another to my mustang collection tonite.... It's an '85 convertible. So lets add that up now...I got an '85gt t-top, an '87gt convertible, and possibly an '85lx convertible. Not to leave out the '73Mach1, the 64 1/2 coupe, and the '66&'67 parts cars my father in law has. Damn! I'm getting quite the collection.

I'm pretty determined on finishing my '85GT t-top. I got it tore down right now. My fiberglass fenders will be in tommorrow. So I can put them on. If the doors off of the '87 will work I'll have doors back on it Sunday. I put my fiberglass hood on a couple of weekends ago. Then the outside will be finished. Then if the floorpans are good in the '87 I'll cut 'em out and put them in the'85GT t-top. And It'll be ready for paint and the interior will be ready to go back in. It sounds like alot of time and work. But as long as I have the parts ready to go on....... It'll be a rather quick process.
And yeah I'll post some pics sometime later. Everyone's probably getting tired of seeing it all stripped down and sitting in a garage. Nothing's really changed with it for about 3 months.
I wish the dude that I'm getting the '85lx 'vert off of would call me back![:@]I'm impatient. I don't want to go get it at midnight and drive it back, andhave to go to work at 5a.m. When & if I get it I'll post some pics up of it.
