Default What you think of this Stang?

For those who remember me I intended to wait untill I had the funds for another mint stang. I crossed apon one today locally. It's a 91 lx hatchback 138,000 miles on the car with original suspension. 94 motor with 36,000 miles, tremic transmission, King cobra clutch, full exhaust. How much is a tremc transmission worth? The car has some minor body damage but seems really solid. He is asking $3,000 I'd rather get a notch but I need to get back in the sattle.

Depends on the body damage.... I picked up my second 93 hatch for 2gs, i knowit was a HELL of a deal, but its up to you, (blue book is below 3,000 but the rareity of decent fox's would put it higher)

Doesn't sound too bad, it has a good solid drive train if its not a 4 banger swap with a 7.5 left in.

How bad is the body damage?

Tremec makes T-5's these days, if it has a king cobra clutch it probably had a t-5

What type of body damage? It all adds up fast between labor/materials, and blending adjacent panels to match...

i could be wrong but im pretty sure all the 5.0s came with the T5 trans. i believe in the 90s borg-warner bought tremec or vise versa. mine says both tremec and borg-warner. they changed to a t45 in 96 for the 4.6s and a t56 for the 03-04 cobras

It is a common upgrade to put in a tremec, but you are right, all mustangs before 94 came with a T5
