RE: so, who wants to hear my II running?
wow i feel like you guys have been living under a rock LOL
lets see........
302 roller block, .030 and zero decked (well, at the top the pistons are exactly .002 in the hole)
arp main bolts
frpp windage tray
289 crank custom ground to work with a 1 piece rear main seal
289 rods, polished with the best arp bolts they make
clevite 77 bearings (just regular ol' clevites)
federal mogul hyper flattops with 4 valve reliefs w/ coated skirts, and perfect circle moly rings
rotating assembly was balanced.
melling HV pump w/ the bottom plate that supports the bottom of the gear and prevents wear in the pump, i forget the part#)
arp oil pump driveshaft
cloyes double roller chain
crane 300/300 .500/.500 hyd. flat tappet cam, was n.o.s. from the late 70's when i originally used it a few years ago in my 302
69 351w heads
egr bumps removed
pocket ported with a serdi machine, then blended by hand
milled approx .010 - .020 (i cant remember its been a few years)
hard ex seats
bronze spiral lined guides
dual springs with anodized retainers
arp screw-in studs and guideplates
crane energizer 1.6 rr's
ford motorsport valve covers with quadrouple stacked gaskets to clear the rocker arms (totally custom, i even made grommets to prevent over / unequal tightening of the covers)
performer rpm intake, ports matched to the larger intake runners of the heads. divider cut down to promote better high rpm flow
holley 570 street avenger (so many people go way too damn big)
accel blueprint distributor with adjustable vacuum advance. msd cap/rotor
msd 8.5 cut to fit wires (just made em today)
msd blaster 2 coil
msd 6al ignition box
aluminum highflow waterpump (dunno what kind)
holley mechanical fual pump
hedman longtube headers into full dual exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers
its backed up by a C4 with the following........
edge racing 2800 stall converter
TCI streetfighter valvebody (still retains auto shifts)
alto red eagle clutches with kolene steels
kevlar band
billet hipo servo
aftermarket cooler, and im running b&m synthetic trick shift fluid in it
still has the stock 8" rear with 3.43 gears, my dad is actually bringing me a 9" in like 2 days. eventually it will get rebuilt with some 3.73's and get stuffed under the *** of the car.
i've also completely redone the front end with polygraphite bushings, new ball joints and tie rod ends, HD springs, and added the cobra II swaybar to the back along with an extra leaf spring on each side. the car drives like a goddamn go-kart and stays pretty friggen flat around the corners.
the interior has been completely converted from tan (when i bought the car) to black via good used parts from various junk yards. there is like one small tear on a seam on the backseat, and i still need to redo the headliner.
the bad? the paint is terrible and during the past few years its reall started to rust around the wheelwells and whatnot. eventually i will strip the car to a shell and rebuild it, but not anytime soon.
what will it run? who knows. my 06 is supposed to be high 13's stock, and when i was running around with the 302 in it i can tell you it was A LOTTTTTTT faster than the 06. take that for what its worth, but low 12's or high 11's would not have surprized me one bit. i've beat foxes with 429's, and new and shiney turbo audi's. got beat once, guy pulled on me when we hit 2nd and he had a chevy 383 in a monte carlo.
