New Here... **Updated W/Pics**
Hows it goin guys....so heres my story....9 years ago when I was 17 I picked up a mint 86 gt t-top 5-speed with 30,000 original miles on it for my first car(big mistake)...long story short 3 months later I was driving a p.o.s. 84 camaro and the mustang was totaled in a junk yard....ever since then ive been itchin to get another one......well about 3 weeks ago i picked up another 86 and this is going to be my project.....
This is what im working with....ill post some pics in the next day or two
Its an 86 gt with 130k on the clock
Exterior has been totally switche to 87up gt ( i know, i know...i wish they left it to...but at least whoever did it did a decent job)
Car has been sanded down and is in primer black
Engine runs good(drove it 3 hours home)
Tranny and clutch feel good
new rear with 3.55s and rebuilt trac-loc
bbk eaqual lenghts
pro chambers
aluminum radiator
cai
Seats on the interior are good but thats about it...its missing most parts from the hatch area
My plans
Im gonna take it slow and do it right as this isnt ever gonna be a dd...and I plan on keeping it
1.Interior is getting gutted and any rust better watch out cause its days are numbered
2. Suspension is getting totally redone...havent decided on parts yet but its all comin out
3. Pulling engine and tranny for a rebuild( goals are a good reliable motor that I can have fun with when it want...no racing)
4. Time for paint
5. Put it all back together
My time frame for this is hopefully in the 1-1.5 year mark as I will be doing all the work myself
Anyway Ive been searchin the forums and found a ton of great info so far so just wanted to say thanks....
Oh and also....do you think 1000 bucks was a decent deal for this....Youll be able to tell better once i post some pics...
