You cut the top of the backs and the bottom of the fronts, as previously mentioned don't cut to much or ride quality will suffer greatly. I cut 1 coil off of the front and 1 1/2 off of the back and it definately improved the looks of my car but the ride is bouncier on bumpy roads, in a couple months I will be buying some Eibach's but for now it works okay.
Any pics? I'd like to see the stance.
I'll post some up in a little while

In the link below is a pic of how my car sits with one coil cut off the front and one and a half cut off of the back. I should have my Eibach'sand Cobra headlights friday.

15" wheels? Mine has that big of a gap on stock springs and 17's.

Jasperstang, that mustang has a beautiful stance. Any idea how much the -1.5coils dropped the car?

If you are determined to cut the springs could you get a set from the junkyard? That way you could go back easy or if you sell the car you can say to buyer "I have the cars ORIGNAL springs." The buyer might like that

just a thought
Good luck

x2 try not to heat them too much if you can help it, hhaa ha had a buddy who would cut and drill things underwater to avoid propteries too much heat could generate on different materials
