i just read ur last post and w/ the 3.73 you will be pushing 3k (2800) going 80mph

3.55 would lower that a bit and you will prob still be happy w/ them

I run 25-2700k rpm with my 373s, I recommend them all the way. I never drop below 80 on the freeway and I still average 20 mpg.

would a crappy ACT kill my mileage like that? my car idles high when its warm.. and its not an intake leak

Yep the flares are coming off.
Now those gears have my interest..
BUT
I can barely launch and stay out of redline in 1st and second.3rd is weak and worse from there.
With 3:73's,I will lay into 2 nd much faster.I have a newer good clutch, and can feather, but canI get it to hook up still?
My impression is that if it was lower geared,I'd roast the tires without trying.

The video was a cold tire launch, with some grit on the road.
Usually, especially with a pasenger Ijust get a chirp out of second, not the nasty lane change I needto avoid. Some people thinks thats cool, but that is power wasted in acceleration

Mileage?
Definately above 20 mpg as it is,15 or less is like a bloody big block motorhome

I dont get those numbers ( 1.992 60' ) ? 2 seconds to 60 feet?
I have the Magnaflows almost installed. The floor boards had some light rust in the muffler area,so I had to spentsometime sanding, epoxy priming and repainting that portion of the floor beforeI could proceeed.
I will do the entire floor plan whileI am at it.I dont like any rust spots. If they dont get treated right away the rust just starts spreading..
I work in a bodyshop,so this work is easy and free for me.

I ran the car with the mufflers on.I was somewhat disapointed,at how quiet the car is.
My original muffler were complety shot,so I guess I got used to the rumble the car had.
I'll post some pics of the floor and install soon.

lol yes 1.992 seconds for the first 60 feet of the 1/4 mile. my best time was only 14.1 tho @97mph but again my only mods are full exhaust and 3.73s.

as for quiet ness get headers and an o/r h-pipe and it will be louder

14.1 is a nice number
Ok so,I dont want to do the headers at this point.I just put the MF cat back, on.
I may consider doing something between it and the Header though.I am a bit confused over H and X pipes and the cats...? I need to have the cats for my annual emissions check.I asume people take them out after and run cat less??
My budget will probably not allow anymore changes at this time.

I could use help in removing this air silencer though.Simple? I guess I'll go with a K&N filter?
I can get a BBK or K&N Cold air,or is there just a filter replacement and keep the black box?
Sorry I dont wrench on cars often.I am a Autopaint Tech

lol the air silencer... thats easy just unbolt ur air box and there are 3 nuts holding the air silence in then reach in from underneath and take it out that way. really easy.

but headers will do way more than any mid pipe will. i have a hpipe w/ 2 high flow cats that came w/ the car and i bought an o/r hpipe. and when its time for emissions i just swap them. its not hard.

and headers on our cars are easy to install def do that over a mid pipe. hpipes are deeper toned and xpipes are raspyer.

VIGCS
92 GT, 5.0, stock headers, BBK offroad X pipe, Flowmaster American Thunder catback (40 series).

same set up but w/ a BBK h-pipe

and yes you can get a k&n drop in filter for your stock box. personally i would keep the stock box get the k&n drop in filter and get a C&L MAF w/ the inlet tube. a fenderwell mount doesnt tune as well w/ a c&l. plus ur stock box is takin air from the fenderwell anyways. once the silencer is removed you have basically a fendwer well kit. so why spend the money on the cai???

OK thanks, will look into the front exhaust some more.SinceI have MF cat backs now,I asumeI should stick with their products to finish the system.I believe they only list X pipes though.
I have a few cosmetic items to change first. Most of my rubber mouldings are fading from UV light. So a pile of cash is going into belt moulding, window surrounds etc.All the metal and plastic trim is being repainted to factory finish.
