im wondering what is the highest amount of hp and trq i can get outve the just normal 302 block that comes in a 5.0. i have a 92 thats down and out with a blown tranny so i was just going to take the engine out get it honed and bored to a 306 and throw a forged rotating assem. in it. now ive heard that 450 is the most the block will take, im looking to do a turbo build on it so i would like to know where it will get dangerous(power wise, the engine will be built with complete arp studs, main girdle everything i can do to keep it together lol)

so whats the tried and true max power #'s outve a production 302 block outve a 5.0.

are there any 302 blocks that are stronger?

for the "5.0 block": I hear thats around the death threshold 450-500hp depending on where your torque is at
oh hell yeah: the new BOSS 302! cant go wrong there when looking for strong block, how awesome is that sucker[8D][&:][8D]

the older ohv v8 sbf blocks are a heavier casting, they do have more meat but will fail in other ways than the 5.0...

there are even more differences between say; 1963 to 1984 pre roller blocks perhaps this is the area for you to look at get the detailed info and get the best of the used blocks out there.... (then you could convert to roller valvetrain if you wish )

hmm, boss block it will be then i guess haha. just going to have to take alil extra time and alil extra money i guess.
