Default second set of wheel for winter tires?

Like the title says, how many of you have a second set of wheels for winter time, with winter oriented tires on them?
With our cars being RWD, non-ABS,and torque happy, the back end sure likes to step out when the roads get snowy. Anybody gone this route?

Would it actually beworthitto do this? Or should I just stick with keepingthe gas tank full, subs in the trunk, and punching bag in the rear seats?

i used to use year round tires for winter and i have some ****y performance tire for summer. I just bought some bridgstone blizzaks w40 and i love them, i thinkthey are supposed to be one of the top rated winter tiers too. for summer im getting something new also just not sure what yet.

If I could I'd get a second set of wheels for winter use only, but as it is I still get a good all season performance tire with a good snow rating(not a full on snow tire though). Between that and the locker it's usually enough to get around here in the mountains when it snows. I don't need a full snow tire because it doesn't snow all the time here in winter(plenty of ice though) and I drive down to sea level a lot.

i dont even bother trying to drive my car in the winter.
i bought a truck with snow tires for that.
i had the car out yesterday and it started to snow, and with only half an inch of snow on the ground.
it was impossible for me to keep me from losing traction whenever i stepped on the gas.
and thats with rear tires that are all season and good traction still.

Forget 94-95 5.0s?!?!
Just kidding. We don't get snow/ice, but it's hard driving in the rain, can't imagine my car in snow.
I'd just get a subie for a DD.

4 wheel drive, trucks etc are no replacement for good tires and good driving. With the right tires I can get around fine in snow around here that quite a few people in 4x4's can't. The wrong tire, the car won't move an inch even in the lightest snow on level ground. Whatever you drive in the snow, make sure it has good tires for snow use.
