Gt tail lights question

RE: Gt tail lights question
its two pieces, the housing and the lense. the lense is held on by a sticky molding that goes between the housing and the lense. you may need a razor knife to gently seperate the lense from the housing. if you need a detailed drawing i can make you one in about 15 minutes or so just let me know.

RE: Gt tail lights question
okay, here ya go. below in the pic circled in red is the sticky molding i was telling you about, mine is more evident because i didnt trim it when i reinstalled these smoke taillights. circled in green is the actual lense itself. where the green and red meet is where you need to start seperating the lense from the housing. where the green and red meet the lense seems to have rounded edges but actually just behind that edge there is a lip that recesses into a groove in the housing. in that groove is where the sticky molding is placed and then the lense is pressed into the groove actually cutting into the molding and thats what holds it on. just seperate it from the groove working it all the way around a little at a time. you may not even need the razor knife it just depends on how stubborn it is coming off. once the lense is removed, remove the old molding and clean the grooves really well, dry it out good. once you have done this the new molding will come on a long strip of wax like paper, remove it and work it into the groove. once in all the way around trim the excess then work the lense into the groove pressing firmly all the way around repeating until seated fully. allow a good 10 hours of dry time before driving. hope this helps ya
