WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS WILLI RUN INTO SWITCHING OUT A STICK TO AN AUTOMATIC??A BUDDY OF MINE SAID HE DID IT AND THE CAR WOULD ONLY SHIFTUP TO 2ND GEAR?? HE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER GUY TO HAVE IT SHIFT PROPERLY. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT. I HAVE A 91 COUPETHAT WAS A STICK AND I'M GONNA PUT AN AUTO IN IT AND WOULD LIKE TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM.THANKS

Just wanted to ask why would you want to go from a 5spd to a auto? I'm wanting to change my auto out for a 5spd...

+1 Im swapping mine out for a 5-speed as well. So how come you want to do the opposite cypress.

yea they do make more than just one auto for a sbf. and im really hoping that its not the aod or at least a relatively stock one

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there stang. I have 3 stangs, well 2 and I'm building my 3rd now and I want an auto. West palm beach traffic sucks with a stick anyways. But I was looking at the TCI super street fighter tranny with a trans brake to go behind the 247 I'm putting in there. A buddy of mine said that there was something I had to do to make it shift right since the car was a stick originally??? Is this right??

umm wow man calm down there a bit. he was probably just messing with you. its nothing to get all bent out of shape for. this is a GREAT place to get good info if you ask the right people or the right people respond. but as long as you have all the components i.e. stepdown cable and all, you should be ok. i dont know about on the mustangs but i do know in 9/10 cars you need a new radiator for cooling the trans fluid. a manual car does not have the hookup for it on the bottom of the radiator
