A friend of mine recently bought a virgin-unmodified 89 5.0 LX for 2,000. He has 2,500 bucks to put on performance parts, what would you guys buy?

You cant go wrong with a h/c/i. It doesn't have to be the best money can buy. You can make decent power with Gt-40 heads and a mild cam.Might be a little more when its all said an done tho. One thing always just leads to another.

1k in the motor, 500 on spray, 1k in suspension... assuming he wants to go fast and its a 5 speed

He has indeed contemplated h/c/i, but does not know what would be best since he is a newb in foxes.
It is a 5 speed and has 87k original miles, we is most likely staying away from spray since he is decided to stay N/A.

What about those kits they sell in summit? The trick flow twisted wedge?

if hes new to it, and doesnt know whats what, those kits are nice

expect like 270-280rwhp out of the kit... now... you could make 270 for alot cheaper... but thats where piecing shti together comes in to play

Gears are the best bang for the buck since he does not want to use nitrous, By na are you excluding supercharger too?

wel my plan is for about 260-270(Well see what happens) its gt40 heads/intake, and a comp cam

i have about 1100 in the ENTIRE motor...(including bottom end, jy motor ftw)

get gears... and shoot for high 12s

some suspension and a tire ofcourse
