well i have a all factory 86 mustang GT, has a 100+ miles on it, but is super clean. only thing done too it is i just installed 2 new o2 sensors with a Xpipe and flowmaster exhaust, its miss firing only at idle right now, and surges and sometimes stalls out but thats pretty rare. thats one of the things, and for the motor its self. i have read and have been told that the 86 motor is really just a cougar motor. pistons and heads are what caused the motor to be down 25 horse from 87. and with the speed denstity, are you limited too the mods you can do?this i also my 3rd mustang but i dont wanna have too go into the motor just too speed this one up. just second guessing my knowlage on this year, everyone is telling me just get a 87+ 5.0l

well i'm not sure about your engine specs, but i would definitely give it a tune up(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter and oil.) and check the timing also to make sure its set at 10 degrees. You would be suprised what a simple tune up would do
