Mustang, wont start
I was driving my 89,stang and the coil wire shorted out on my header and it shut off and wont start, but if i jump a wire from the battery to the coil it'll run, What could i of blown ? or shorted out ? without jumping the wire to the coil. when i trun the Key i have no fuel pump or no spark. anyideas ?

check the fuse links that go to the solonoid make sure they are all good ,& not burned up ... your probably gonna be lookin for a blak & orange wire .... not sure but check them out ... you might have blown one. they look like a insulated wire if you are not familiar with what a fuse link is.

there should be several of them bolted to a stud on the solonoid. just make sure the insulation isnt burned on the wires... they dont look like fuses... just like a piece of wire. they could be fine it was just he quickest thing that came to mind. I'll check a wiring diagram when i get a chance
look closer ... i still think thats what the problem may be , i think theblack & orange is tothe ecm... i think a blue one is for the coil & ignition

I checked the links i looked around the hole car no melted wires * i wish their was one so id know whats wrong * but i cant find any. could it be some kind or a relay ? would the coil wire shorting out trash the Car computer ? im really not having any luck

I'm not sure how to accuratly test the selenoid, but if you get a screwdriver and go across the two studs the motor should turn over, if it do's not then that could be the problem. A new noid cost less that $10.
