Default UPDATE: Im not the next Nieb!!

... anyway, my buddy has a '00 V6 with about 100k on the clock. It was running and idling a bit rough and shaky and made some funky noises. One day, he showed up and it didnt make any odd noises and it seemed to be running perfectly. He told me he drained the oil, poured 1 gallon of diesel into the oil filler, and out came 2 gallons of sludge into the oil drain pan..... Ive heard that Diesel is like the soap of fuels, and they use it to clean tanks and tractors, but I didnt think you could pour that thru your engine..

Anyway, I thought Id ask since it got rid of his 'engine tick' and I have one developing that Id like to get rid of. Thanks

UPDATE: Well it worked better than I imagined.. not only did it get rid of that tick that I was talking about, but the whole assembly runs quieter and smoother. It idles a little lower and doesnt shake as much. I definitely recommend this procedure to anyone whos never done it.

Heres my gear:

Oil, filter, stabilizer, kerosine, and new rear drain plug

Kerosine before -

Kerosine after -

i WOULDN'T RECCOMMEND DOING THAT BUT IF IT WORKED.... IT'S HIS MOTOR...PERSONALLY WE USE a oil flush machine that is hooked up to where the oil filter is in place of it and run a oil flush chemical kit through it while running the engine and it works well

Well he didnt run the engine, supposedly he just poured it thru before re-adding his oil.

Personally, I'd avoid putting anything in the engine BESIDES oil. Caused be nothing but nitemares. I am glad I inspired some of you!

If you ever looked at the can on engine tune up in a can it is basically Kerosene in a can by the looks smell and consistancy of it just has mone minerals in it. And to the person that said don't use the oil since it is too heavy has never used the oil. I run it in my pickup with 212xxx miles on it and it runs fine! I use the shell rotella T 15w40 in all our fleet trucks and my 5.0 pickup and its all good!
