which motor would be best
im not exactly experienced in the whole different ford motors exactly and am planning on getting a motor and fully rebuilding it with all performance parts and then either supercharging or twin turbo set up on it and putting it in my 89 conv. what would be the best motor as far as price and power? thanks

5.0 w/ a 347 stroker kit would be my opinion. my buddy has one in is lincoln mark vii w/ a s-trim. and runs low 11s. but you better cage the **** out of that conv w/ full length sub frames and everything possible for stiffening.

R.Barn will surely chime in with his turbo recommendation.
is an aftermarket block in the budget? if not just do a 306 with a H/C/I and boost the **** out of it with a single turbo

well right now i got the frame all xed under so thats not the problem, and budget still hasnt been determined but i was looking in jegs and the 351 conversion kit is like 1000? dont know much about swapping them but can i get all the stuff in the kit cheaper?? and i was looking at just rebuilding a 302 with performance and im a huge fan of turbos seeing i used to have a turboed car... and then looking at twin turbo on the motor i build.. but with a 347 stroker can i twin turbo that or would supercharger be better and what kind of power would i be looking at compared to a 351 twin turbo or supercharged? thanks for the info

alot of it depends on the parts your using, i mean if you put a supercharger/twin turbo on something that has e7 heads, your not gonna see as big of a gain as some nicer heads yea know. I personally along with MANY other users here will vote that a nice twin turbo setup can gain you amazing amounts of horse power. For reliability reasons, i would get a 351w and twin turbo it. If you use a 302 a twin turbo would push it to its limits with low boosts and thats no fun. Also, make sure your ready to shell out some BIG bucks for all of the supporting mods and the tune/dyno time.

yeah ive been talking to some of my dads friends who all drag race and they said the 351 would be my best bet against the 302 but then again they also said the chevy 350 is half the price to build than a ford engine would be.. im mainly looking to build a track only car but who knows what ill end up doing..im trying to compete with my friends500whpsti so its going to be tuff ha
