Default Intake question Edlelbrock Victor JR

I was thinking about doing something different as far as an intake goes.....I want to get a carb style intake, modify it to take injectors, and use a TB. I figure I could do something like the Edlelbrock intake, like this one..

http://item.express.ebay.com/Edelbro...mdZExpressItem

Unless I can get it cheap enough already done. I am a Machinest so the modifications is no biggie and it has the bosses in to for the injectors. I just figure carb cars run good with these, so why wouldn't it with FI.

Would it be worth my time??

My only concern is the power range with that intake....maybe there is one that has a bit of a lower power band I can modify..... any suggestions? I can weld aluminum too if I have to.

just like a carb application....

edelbrock performer idle-5500
weiand action plus (8124) idle-6000
edelbrock performer rpm 1500-6500
edelbrock performer rpm airgap 1500-6500 but really more like 1750-6750

the victor is more for motors with a power band of 3500 up to 8000 I believe......my 306 fell flat at 6500 with that intake and I lost bottom end and et so I went back to the rpm...it was more suited to my cam power band and build

wouldn't the rpm range move down a bit from what it would be if it was a carb? you're adding a lot more volume with the elbow. wouldn't it kinda be like running a 6" carb spacer? or am i not thinkin bought this the right way?

SO what, a spacer would lower the rpm range? I was thinking about mounting my TB right on top of the intake, with no elbow.

you really need the elbow to route the tubbing properly and to not have a huge toaster mounted on top of your hood
