Default RE: What is a "speed density system"?

sd is fine... heres my list of mods on a stock SD system

gt40 heads
gt40 intake
comp xe270 cam(218 224 .512/.512 114)
frpp headers
o/r h pipe
catback
drag radials
3.73s(not in yet, maybe next weekend)
and some other ****...
o and the 100 shot(nitrous)

shooting for 11.90s on a stock speed density system

basically what my point is is that you can do virtually anything, except injectors, with speed density... most everyone swaps to mass air, and i understand why and all, but im staying SD, just because ppl say you cant...

the mods you listed wont even think about effecting anything negativly at all...

as a matter of fact, id still concider that stock... and well stock for stock sd is faster anyway

something u need to know about SD, hit me up...

Can I put in a larger throttle body? I think mine has a 58mm and I was thinking of putting in a 65mm. Thanks, again, guys.
You would be wasting your time with a larger TB on the 86 Upper, if your staying basicly stock for now get the upper and TB from a 87 - 93 5.0. They revised them in 87 with a slightly larger opening than what the 86 has, the lower manifold is the same 86 - 93. More Info for Ford SEFI 5.0 Intakes is basic deails.

I have full exhaust and a few other bolt on's and my 87 sd ran great. As soon as I put on a Typoon intake manifold it idled like crap, ran rich and bucked alot when driven.
