RE: HIDs in a 5.0
is there anything wrong with the kits sold at stang mods? You can put an HID setup in any headlights you want right? I have some crystal euro style headlights with projectors and I wanna put HIDs in them, I can do that right?

RE: HIDs in a 5.0
the actual mounting for hid lights is almost never done correctly and blinds on-comming cars. i will getcha the right up on the correct way to do it if someone else doesnt, im not sure where abouts it is, the search might help, but if someone doesnt post it i will.

RE: HIDs in a 5.0
there are 2 different types of HID's (im talkin bout the real HID's here) there are D2S bulbs and D2R bulbs. the D2S bulb is designed to be fitted into an actual projector housing, something like you see in a lexus, mercedes, bmw, acura....stuff like that.
a D2R bulb is to be used in a conventional reflective housing like our mustangs.
the difference is that the one used for a conventional headlamp (D2R) is sheilded on the bulb itself so its not blinding oncoming drivers (^^^ the black part on the glass part in the pic above ^^^) and the other (D2S) is shielded in the projector. ( \/ \/ below \/ \/ )
this is the best i could do for you guys in the 5 mins i wanted to take for it
hope this helps you guys a bit. if you want to kno more i'll help out as much as i can, just ask.
oh and here's a buildup from a guy that put real hid's in his fox to show you how well real ones actually work.... REAL HID BUILD UP

I think I wanna try to mod the lights I have now. It has a regular buld in the middle, and off to the side is a projector beam that I'm hoping I can open up and rig an HID bulb in that projector beam.
