Wheelie
Hey Guys, anybody know of how to make a notch stand up or if it can truly be done? I havent seen a street car carry the front tires? I seen twisting and such...but a good foot or two off the ground? I was thinking incorrect pinion angle and four link set up should do it.....but? Any thoughts.....I have Eibach drag launch springs and lakewood struts on one of my cars and it feels like car is lifting...got lots of weight transfer but thats not what I'm talkin bout....lol..... oh yeah 5 speed car.....thanks

RE: Wheelie
lotsssaaaa horsepower and torqueeeee:D

RE: Wheelie
waht are you talkin about? on the track? why would you purposely want to wheelie?
|
RE: Wheelie
ORIGINAL: mopman93 waht are you talkin about? on the track? why would you purposely want to wheelie? but yeah, you lose precious time off your e/t when you do it at the track...and its hella dangerous to do on the streets and yeah, lots of torque should get you there...some 4:56s |
RE: Wheelie
Thats right cuz its the coolest F-ing thing in the world...not at the track....thats a given...I'm talkin bot a street set-up that can actually do it? Torque and Horsepower granted...but can it "really" be done....carry the wheels across an intersection.....

RE: Wheelie
Really? With like what set up? Did it really "carry" or just come off the ground a few inches...I seen that a few times....but I'm talkin 2 ft...all the way up to draggin bumper...just wondering if its possible....lol

RE: Wheelie
right...you want to do this on public roads through an intersection, i see in your future a post saying "so i just got my license suspended", do that sh!t somewhere else, not on a public road. Your the type of guy who drives his new car over a median and into stopped traffic lol. Anyone else see that video?
If you want to do that kinda stuff, find a different place to do it, because your bound to have the cops called on you if done on the street. |
RE: Wheelie
Gonna need some sticky tires too. U cant do wheelies spinning...
Tons of torque and some relatively steep gears Lighten up the front end with tubular K, aluminum goodies, battery relocate, etc. If you ever do, make sure u dont cut the wheels coming back down...People ruin nice cars because they come back down and put it into a wall. |
RE: Wheelie
Yeah maybe some MT street slicks....? I just havent seen/heard it being done....was wondering if somebody had a "street" car capable of doing it.....would be so cool to have that capability added little twist talk about cool....screw standing wheelies on street bikes thats 5 years ago....ha

RE: Wheelie
The car at the start of this video and the 3rd race is my supervisor and the class he races he has to run on Bfgoodrich tires that are DOT. He does not drive it on the streets, but I think getting the grip to stand the wheels would be the main problem on the streets.

RE: Wheelie
This thread is pointless and unrealistic. Yea anything is possible with the rite amount of money. If your soul purpose is to ride a wheelie and you have the money that transfer the engine to the back of your car I suppose...

RE: Wheelie
And when you do come down think about the chit that you could mess up... not worth it, IMO. But hey it is cool to watch someone else do it.

RE: Wheelie
We have a local crew on the mustang forum that prides themselves on 'street wheelies'.
The best of which seems to be the Malibu everytime. I'm hoping my fox will be in the mix this coming spring. http://home.comcast.net/~5-door/Movie.wmvThis was shot on a well prepped street behind the shop. At the time, he used people in the back. But lately, he's been getting more air without. These pics where taken at a wheelie competition. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...Byron07/35.jpg |
RE: Wheelie
See this is what I'm talkin about....though this things got some weight in the back being a wagon....its just cool that it can carry on the street....I LOVE IT....now to get my notch to do the same??? Maybe needs to be AT with a transbrake instead of 5 speed?
|
RE: Wheelie
what id like to see is a front wheel car do a wheelie in reverse

CBurn Date 12/21/2007 3:55:25 PM what id like to see is a front wheel car do a wheelie in reverse Now that would take some ****in torque |

Maybe needs to be AT with a transbrake instead of 5 speed? I'd give up on this dream of yours, it's extremely unrealistic to try to build a car that would do it on the street. Traction doesn't happen on the street, I've been in a GSX that was stock except exhaust, and he didn't get traction launching... GSX means AWD just incase you aren't familiar with imports. |
RE: Wheelie
i seen somebody post they wanted to see a car do a wheelie in reverse well about 30 seconds in to the video this guy does lol its pretty funny.

haha.
"you might be a redneck if......" |
RE: Wheelie
have everything up front as light as possible battery in the trunk.... tubular k member a-arms aluminum heads take the smog and a/c out of the car build the motor for some power get some good rear suspension components drag lite rims and some sticky tires out back i dont see why the car couldnt lift the tires for a good amount of time and im sure there are other components that could help in achieving this goal hell i would like to do one on the street not through a intersection but maybe on a side street with no one around just to be able to say i did it... good luck

i thought it was pretty funny lol.

RE: Wheelie
My new hot rod has no problem pulling the front wheels on the street.
|
RE: Wheelie
I used to be able to pull them in my 93 GT, but it wouldn't stay up long. It's takes the right car on the right street to do it for the most part. Like I said, I'll TRY and be there this Spring after the motor swap... we'll see how I do.
