Default Looking for suggestions with gauges

First of all, i think i'm gonna go with the Autometer carbon fiber series. I was wondering how you guys think this would look http://florida50.com/1979-1986-gauge-holders.htmin my car with those gauges. Also, i'm still contemplating whether or not to get mech. or electric gauges.I want them to be reliable, accurate, and long lasting because this is my dd. One last thing...i'm getting water temp, oil pressure, and for the third gaugeI was wondering whether volts is the best choice or go with something like oil temp. Thanks for the help.

I have one of the UltraLite II gauges that are back lit at night.
It looks very nice.

Get mechanical gauges whenever possible.

You need a volt meter to catch bad battery or alternator before
it leaves you on the side of the road one night with rapidly dimming headlights ...........

it looks kinda cool but trust me it partially impractal putting them over there. in our '69 boss we have the oil pres, volts and water temp gauges in that area and you have to completely turn your head to look at em. no chance at seeing them with just a glance. they look pretty cool with the way the dash is designed but its not as practical. so i guess it depends on whats more important to you. and damn its pissin me off that i dont have any pics[&o]

Well, i didn't think it was actually that bad once you get into the drivers seat. For me, it's just a glance and i can see over to that spot (it might be closer to the driver seat than in the boss). I know it's not the greatest spot, but i don't really have any other options with the four eye interior. The a-pillar is an option, but i don't want them where everyone can tell that you obviouslyhave a bunch of gauges.
