Found a 88lx 5.0, swap into my 2.3 notch. Which route? *pics*
Okay, So iv made a few posts about finding a 302 to drop into my 4 banger... well, I think i found one.. I was scanning across the local craiglist, when I found an add for a 88 LX 5.0 for 800$ in my town. Well i sent the guy an email, got one back, and found out its one of my best friends brothers lol. So i have a few options here.... Im pretty sure I can get the car for 600$. What route would you guys say i take?
1. Swap 5.0 into mine, my 2.3 into the hatch, sell the hatch.
2. Swap 5.0 into mine, part out the hatch, sell the engine
3. Swap motors, keep car as a backup car for the family
To start off, i want the 5.0 in my notch. Honestly, I dont like the looks of a hatch, at all. And i just spent 1k on body work/paint for my car

Also, can anyone say exactly what all will be needed to swap the 5.0 over? And does anyone know if a place like firestone would swap an engine for me? reason i ask is because the family owns a few laundromats that are on this barter system.... kinda like monopoly money... and well, we have about 37k$ in barter money that can not be transfered to cash. And firestone is on this barter system, so i could have them do all the labor for no cash. Does anyone have an estimate on how many hours of labor this would be? iv had them do work on my car and theyv done an excellent job with the work.... very quick. they know their sutff

exactly dont ruin a nice hatch just to put it all in your notch, buy the hatch and drive it, then buy everything you need to convert your notch to a 5.0

thats a good idea.... i might do that actually. although it would be harder to piece together something rather than i have it all right there.
