89 mustang gt, not running how it should?
hey guys, im about to do a tune up on my car and i got around 170,000 miles on my car. what should i do other than spark plugs, dist cap, wires and a new rotor? all i have done to my car is a bbk cai, flowmaster mufflers, and an msd coil i also have a 150 shot of noss that came with the car that im never going to use. I know i am going to compression test it and do the timing. I was told that getting a new rotor and cap wouldnt be worth it that i should just get a new distrobutor and coil is this true? I havn't taken the distrobutor apart to check the terminals yet. what else should i check, or should i just replace it? thanks in advance for any input

o and i already had a friend check the timing and he said it wasnt checkable because it kept jumping around but i thought that was because of vaccume advance but we couldnt find it. I dont know that much about it and my friend didnt either, it was my first time doing the timing. can somone help me find out why its doing this?

it shouldn't have a vacum advance unless it is carbed,if it is still fuel injected and it is jumping around the distributor is more than likely shot , so is it an f/i or a carb?

I can't find them all I can find is aftermarket ones. I looked but didn't see anything because I don't really need an aftermarket system because im not planning on putting that much power to it, like prbably the most withen a couple years around probably 350- 400 maximum
