Is any one rally Racing their mustang?

I just got a 85 GT hatch 5 speed that I plan on building into a purpose build rally car that will be street legal. Tube cage, I've also got a suspensions form the front of a 06 GT found a 00 GT rear end in the wrecking yard with 3.73 gears and ford racing axles. My family owns a hot rod shop down here in Texas so I have some skills and the equipment but any suggestions would be great. I plan Any other suggestions form some one who might have tried this already.

cant help ya w. the suspension end of it.. but ur motor we can prolly help w.... then again some guys on her prolly know the suspension

When you say rally racing do mean road racing like SCCA or AIX style racing. When you say rally racing I am see the Ford Focus and Subura WRXi racing on a dirt road. I am not trying to be funny please clarify.

I think he means dirt racing... I would consider track racing to be autox.

We have a guy on the local forum who rallys his stang. He swapped over from a WRX (if i remember right). Claimed it was too easy to rally an AWD car and the mustang is a challenge.

You got it I want to get down and dirty and try to give some imports a run for there money. Texas also has a far amout of "Cow Trails" and it's getting bigger down here and it looks like a blast but i havent had a car to beat the crap out of untill the mustnag came along, and my little brother goes "hay rally that stang"

I do also run autoX when i can. I sold my last car to help my dad's shop build the new show car.
