Jerico transmission!!!Anbybody running one?
Well in a previous post i had talked about doing a g-force t-5 dog ring gear kit or a tko. After alot of thinking and figureing for the future of more horse power, i think i've decided on buying a jerico dr-4. Its a full race tranny and i dont drive it much on the street and wont have to worry bout anailating it. Any body running one of these? Looking for some feedback before i drop a bunch of cash.

Prolly WAY more trans than you need. They make hardcore transmissions. They're worth the money if you can afford one, but you'd need several thousand hp before you broke one. The only people I know of around here using Jericos have them in circle track cars, they're either running something like the Jerico WC-4 etc, or Richmond T-101's.

A DR-4 would take quite a bit more than 750hp, I'm sure. You're paying about $1,000 per gear, and they're made from VAR steel, and cut fuggin huge with large high wuality alloy shafts. I've never seen anything with any Jerico that had under 800hp. If you plan on building massive power, they're a good transmission to use. A bit noisy, but built to insanely high standards.

i forgot to mention i just picked one up off racingjunk.com from a guy in dallas (bout 450 miles away) and i'm taking my car down there and he's gonna show me how to set the clutches and all that. Then were gonna take it to the track and run it and if it aint what he says it is i dont own it. Done put a down payment on it. 2500 bucks for everything to bolt in the car. I talked to jerico and they said the dr-4 clutch type is good for 750 hp, the clutchless is good for 1200 i think is what he said. They know the guy thathas the transmission and they said it'll be as he says it is. Guess he's donequite alot of business withthem i guess. I heard they make alot of noise buts thats the price i gotta pay for a real transmission thataint gonna quit on meand that will shift fast unlike a t-5 or a tremec. everybody that i've talked to said thatu can shift it without the clutch or burping the throttle but jerico doesnt recomend it. thats why they sell the clutchless dr-4

The guy that i bought the trans has 6300 invested in it and has receipts to prove. The flywheel cost him 800 bucks and i think the clutch cost 1100 bucks. he's got the best parts you can buy

I doubt you can go wrong even buying a used Jerico. The kind of people that buy a transmission like that take very good care of them. They're noisy mainly because of the gears being straight cut rather than helical, but they're a lot stronger. Good transmissions, the only complaint anyone ever has about them is the price, but you get what you pay for.

Yea and i couldn't go wrong for the price and the gaurentee that it works. It costs a little more to do a tremec so i thought i couldn't go wrong.
