I bought a 95 GT Convertible about 5 months ago up in northern Pa. and drove it back to Texas. Ibought this car from a fellow who claimed that he had to get rid of it because it was killing his bank account due to all of the money he spent on mods and speeding tickets. I drove the car and was terrified at the power and speed. The car puts out almost 500 H.P. and from a dead start will pin you in the seat so hard that it takes your breath away! Very intense! Talk about a rush!!. Upon returning to Texas and after further inspection, I started to notice that there were quite a few things about the car that led me to believe that maybe it could have originally been a Cobra. First,when the car was registered,entering the I.D.number showed the car as a Mustang GT/Cobra. I have noticed that the brake calipers are red and have the words Cobra on them. The gages are white, and the letters SVT are on the left side of the Trunk lid. I finally called the previous owner and asked him about this and he finally relented and admitted that the car was originally a Cobra and that he had changed the Bumper covers and the emblems because he was making a "sleeper" out of it. He said also that the Cobra emblems attracted more police, and he noticed that he didn't have as much problems once he changed the car to the GT logo. I cannot believe that someone would go to the expense of doing this. I am now trying to put the car back into it's original condition. I am now looking for a front and rear bumper cover for a cobra and a set of fog lamps. I am confident that that should be all that remains as far as what is needed. I have a set of emblems which will go on when the car is completed. Any help that anyone can give me as far as locating a rear and front 95 Cobra bumper cover will definitly be appreciated. Thanks. Oh, he also has put in an automatic transmission which I wasn't crazy about at first, but it grows on you after a while. I like the way I can just push the pedal down and the car launches itself..came in handy on the trip.

I agree that this is b.s. Its probably the other way around, its probably a 3.8 and the kid put GT emblems on it.

I was reading the other post and I think there is something fishy (or foul) about the deal... It's had a color change, bumpers replaced, and an auto swapped out for the 5sp...... It may just be a hack car like Dave mentioned

And 500hp???? I really doubt that...
