Just wondering how many of you CA guys run O/R X or H pipes. I ask because I keep coming across CA 5.0 ownersrunning no cats. Does anyone know what the penalty is for running an O/R pipe in SoCal? Does everyone really adhere to CA pipe laws, aside from at smog testing time?

I dont, I have a custom catless H-pipe I made in Mexicali, no smog testing here so

when I move to SD i'll swap in a 2-cat H-pipe, the difference in performance is minamal

My good friend has a bbk o/r x-pipe and he never has any probs. We know a dude that does smog though. He's ****ed if a cop looks under the car, or knows what a smog pump looks like...lol.

if you have a good buddy who works in a state inspection station or have a friend who has a friend you can pay the fee for the inspection sticker, and it will pass you, but sometimes they won't risk it because they are committing a crime as well. though sometimes like i said if they're a good friend they will. thats how i pass my inspection in jersey with no cats haha.

Oh, I don't mind swapping my original pipe back on every two years. I'm more concerned with getting pulled over and written a $10k ticket. I've literally heard that the fine canbe up to ten grand!! Anyone know what the penalty really is?

make sure you have all four cats! they will bust you if you only got two! trust me. or hollow out your cats (if they are bad)

yup they are really cracking down! i hate it. even if you have a upgraded ignition coil they bust you. no joke
