Default Need An answer to this one

Question......can you use the stock intank fuel pump with a carb if you install a fuel pressure regulator inline before the carb to reduce the pressure ????????


Doing a 4cyl to 302 swap and going with carbed, just a thought I had, wondering if it would work.

You would overwork the pump, there is no fuel return on a carbed car to bleed off the excess

I think there are regulators you can get that have fuel returns in them for just this sort of thing. Someone else who's actually done it would know more though.

You are correct, they are called return or bypass regulators made to use a electic fuel pump. Here is the first one I came across on summit as an example....

Stanger thanks thats perfect! I would rather spend $125 on that than $100 on a fuel pickup then drop the the tank swap it and still have to pay another 100 or so for an electric fuel pump.
