Default Bumper tape on two-tones?

You know the tape that goes around the bumper covers and side mouldings on two tone cars--the same color as the top half of the car (in my case, red tape)? Does anyone know where I can buy some or, even better, how to remove the original tape (if possible)? Thanks.

You can remove the old tape pretty easy...get a heat gun/hair dryer, heat up the tape and start peeling....it will come right off. If it leaves any adhesive, use some adhesive remover. I like the stuff called "Goof off" I used itlots of times for that same reason and it wont hurt your paint.

actually use 3M adhesive and wax remover rather than goof off. You can get it at walmart and it won't hurt the paint eaither but test in a hidden spot. Goof off may work but you are going to be high as a kite by the time you are done...stuff is in a blue-green can $5 bucks. If you want a different color stripe or something, 50resto sells em.

...and the answer to my other question...5.0resto! You guys are good. I think I'll take the stripes off, and then decide whether or not to replace them. I just had my front bumper cover and one of my sideskirts repainted, and they look great without the stripes. Wish the rest of my car looked as good as these two parts now. Anyway, thanks for the info, fellas.

Amen brother. Not tech related, but about 20 years ago, I was a moron andliked to huff chemicals. One day, I did so while leaning back in a chair on my friend's patio. I passed out, and fell backward onto an old-style oiling can which stuck two inches into the back of my head, under my ear. Then I jumped up with the oilcan sticking out of my head, and as my friends all gasped in horror, asked, "What's wrong?" having no clue that I was impaled. After having the wound "irrigated" for an hour in the ER, I never huffed again. Sorry for the story...I'm bored.
