How to acheive my goal of 2700-2800lbs
Ok guys,
I want to get my new 89 coupe to 2700-2800 lbs. It will have a tubular front suspnsion, all. DS, all. heads, 408 stroker, c4, No sound deadening, mini-tubs, 8 point roll bar, fiberglass hood, and fibreglass trunk.
What else is needed to get to my goal. Its an all out strip car, NO street use!

Carbon/Kevlar composites are lighter than most of the fiberglass, and stronger. You could prolly get basically any body part in composites if you look around. Rip out all the interior, heater, radio, anything in the dash you don't need etc.

Some things i can think of
Rip out all interior parts
Spare tire
Light alloy wheels and ****
lighter K member
Lighter, Built axle
All alum. engine
No accessories (most hardcore drag racers dont even have an alternator, they charge after every run)
if your really crazy, get rid of the power brake booster,
inner fender wells
Glass or carbon body panels, at least hood, decklid, and bumpers
you can always go old mopar style and drill hundreds of 3 inch holes in your frame =P
