Default Clearance issues with aftermarket hood.

To those that have a Harwood 3" cowl Cobra R style hood, did you have any clearance issues with the hood hitting your intake manifold? I have a Cobra GT40 intake and I have a 1" space in between the upper and lower intake manifolds. I had to put the spacer in so my throttle body would clear the valve covers. It seems like the back part of the hood is hitting the back part of the intake. Anyone have this issue?

You shouldn't. I have a 2 1/2" cowl with gt-40 and 1/2 spacer, no probs at all

[&:]try putting gome washers inbetween the hood and its hinges to shim it a little, maybe that will help. i have had no problems with mine.

Here are some pictures of where it is hitting. The way the hood is designed, it almost makes it pointless to even have the damn cowl. Are all of them like this?

Arrow shows where it is hitting on both the hood and the intake.

Circle shows where on the intake.

take a grinder and flapper wheel and sand the nub down smooth, you might have to polish that little spot to match the rest of the intake tho

That's the thing, that is just the first spot it is hitting. It is keeping the front of the hood from closing. Even if I sanded down the nub, it would still hit the rest of the intake. It seems as though the hood is more cosmetic then functional.

Get rid of the SN95 TB elbow.
Install Fox style TB
and run 1/2" spacer instead
Fab up new CAI

Problem solved
