All original 94 GT Convertible - Thoughts
A friend of mine offered to sell me his wifes 94 GT convertible. It has been well cared for and only has needed minor repairs. It is a 5spd with 190,000 miles on it.The car has been babied and never ridden hard. My question is what should I expect and what is a fair price? Everything works and the interior and exterior are both in good shape.
Thanks

That is going to need a rebuild soon 190000 is a lot for any stock car even if it was babied, i got my 94 gt with about 79000 on it with upgrades for 6k so i would say around that would be fair for a friends

I wouldn't pay tons for it not knowing how long the motor will last..but if all maintenence and oil changes were done on time I've seen one with 275k still running strong

Sorry, no way I am paying 6k for that car. With that high of mileage, the motor is not the only thing to be looking at. Brakes, shocks, rack all those wear and tear items are going to start coming up. I just saw a '95 black on tan cobra vert with 73,XXX original miles for sale online today 7k obo. Clean car too, would be mine if it was closer.
You friend is trying to sell you his car, not the other way around. You should be getting the deal. if you are looking for fair, use KBB which would be most accurate since it is not modded. Forget that it is a mustang, just treat it as you are buying a 14 year old USED car from afriend.

It depends on what your plans are for the car. If you are like most of the guys/gals on this forum, then you will probably end up swapping the engine; braking system; andsuspension anyway, so mileage is really irrelevant.
If you are looking to buy this car, and do nothing to it and drive it forever, you may want to look for a lower mileage car. Although I bought mine with 198k for 4k about 6 mos ago, and since I have replaced the entire suspension, wheels, tires, brakes, and just put in a brand new engine, replaced the motor and tranny mount, and rebuilt the rear end. So my car is pretty much brand new again It just has 209k miles on it
