Ok so I went to the boneyard today and started to pull apart a 85 hatchback, i need the dash piece, I removed the obvious bolts to what looks to be a frame behind it? after i removed the bolts i came across the problem that it just wouldnt budge...so does anyone have a write up of how to take a dash out of a 85/86 4eye...? I only have today and tomorrow off so its pretty important that i can get it outta there tomorrow... i left pretty pissed since i drove all the way up there and walked out without the thing i needed....any help would be great

Bolt locations...
D/S to the left of the headlight switch.
P/S just above the kick panel.
Under the dash to the left of the stereo.
Behind the glove box... there is a brace.
Top of dash under pad, 5 small head screws close to the glass.
Have to drop the steering column.

Might be a few little things I'm forgetting, but that's about it.

bring a light and drop ...the column just gotta look for all the mounting points and screws

how do you drop the steering column..? anything else that needs to come off, what about the heater ducts and all that stuff arent they connected to it too?

there should be 4 bolts 2 of em by the hood release and 2 more farther back, as for the heater ducts they come off with it im pretty sure, we had to pull my dash when i first got it, came out pretty easy

there are four bolts under the column..put your head under there and you'll see them

alright thanks guys, im gonna hope to get it outta there tomorrow so i can get it prepped and painted. and put into my 86. Ill let ya kno how it turns out.

Do you need a nice black dash pad for it? I have one thats only a year old

well i did pull a black one from that car...with one crack but how much would u be lookin to get....?
