Default Bahhhhhhhhhhh!!! Cant pass smog. Suggestions

So here is whats up. Just bought this 93 LX about 8 days ago. Everything on the car is smog legal. The guy was giving me crap about only having two cats and not four. If Im not mistaken, isnt the BBK catted H-pipe smog legal? Anyways, I failed the emissions part and the visual (via the cats). Is there any tricks to passing? The smog pump is still hooked up, as is the EGR and PCV. This is what I have...

93 LX
E-303
AFR 165
Eddie Performer 5.0
Eddie 70mm
Eddie EGR spacer
Hedman shorties
BBK catted H-pipe
Flowmaster Force-II
SCT Chip
Crane Fireball Ignition box and coil

What the heck can I do? I was going to borrow a stock H-pipe from someone but now he wont let me use it. Someone actually told me stuff cheesecloth in my exhaust pipe.

sounds like the guy is a real dick, so he said that you cant use a stock H pipe now.... how does he expect you to pass then?? Iv never heard of an emmisions guy saying that 2 cats is not enough to pass visual. id say try another emmisions place and you might get lucky with someone more layed back because i also have the BBK hiflow H pipe and passed with no problems.

The car came w/ a 4 cat h pipe from the factory. That's what has to be on it. Since the guy chooses to enforce that, that's your tough luck. Sorry man, but that's how it is. Maybe you can try another test site.

I see your from Cali., from what I understand the strictest in the country.
Your BBK catted H-pipe would be legal in most states and may be in Cali..
Call BBK and find out if your H-pipe is CARB approved. If so ask them for the CARB sticker and and other paperwork that would confirm CARB compliance.
Figure out which part number you may have and give BBK that number when you call.
If it's CARB approved it is an acceptable replacement. Tell the inspector that the original cats were bad and replaced.

As for failing emissions, you need to know what the standard is and what your car's numbers were. Get them and post the numbers. There may be something we can suggest to hep you get the readings lower.

Im gonna crall up under it and see if I can find a C.A.R.B. stamp on the h-pipe. If there is one, they cant say anything, right? I need to hurry up and get this thing legal.....so I can install my LT's and o/r H.[sm=lildevil.gif]
