Default Good deal? Yay or nay

Been searching hard for a 5.0 manual stang for awhile and found this one. It's about a 5 hour drive from my house, so I don't really wana get out there and be disappointed.

Wanted to see if you guys thought this was a good deal.... or a P.O.S.

http://scranton.craigslist.org/car/548539564.html

My worries:
1) Minor fender damage / cracked hoodso the insurance company totaled it out? That seems a bit fishy. I asked for pictures of the engine bay and underside to both see the condition, but also to try to determine if the frame is bent or something was smashed out of alignment!
2) He states that the tranny has a problem getting put into reverse and that's the only problem, but he has an extra t-5 (and he says "this is his first 5.0"). Why would he want an extra tranny if the only problem is the reverse?
3) The price seems rediculously low (I offered him 2300 and he accepted) for the mods and the year stang. Granted, it's not an LX, that alone made me a bit leary.

So what do the gurus think? Can anyone else spot anything i'm missing in the pics? I'll post pics of engine/underside once he sends them to me.

Go drive it. If it drives good, give him 2000 cash and drive it home.

I've already got from 2600 to 2300. I'll try low balling him more to his face, but I'm mainly worried about the frame being bent a little.

I'm especially worried about this one because why would the insurance company total it just because of the front fender?
