If your car is an 88, those are the wrong headers. Those are for a 94-95 car. That tube went up to the egr valve. On Fox cars, it is done thru the intake internally.

If your car is an 88, those are the wrong headers. Those are for a 94-95 car. That tube went up to the egr valve. On Fox cars, it is done thru the intake internally.

The EGR goes thru the intake on the fox bodies and the EGR bolts to the EGR spacer. The sn95 cars have the external EGR tube.
The parts needed for the smog pump in the second picture would be best gotten at the junk yard. There are valves and such in the hoses and there is a pipe between the rear of the heads and a pipe that runs down to the converters on the H-pipe.

a guy at a car show told me that it was kinda a throw together motor consisting of a 95gt a 88gt and a lincoln mark VIII.
but it is a EGR PIPE?
is that the actual name if i need to buy the parts?
will that do anything to the idle?

It is, but you have nowhere to run it to since the EGR is hooked up thru the intake. Your best bet is either the correct or even better aftermarket headers or find a plug to block it off.
I'll try to take a picture of my 88 smog pump hoses today and post them later. I removed all of that stuff from mine.

Yeah, if those headers are on your fox body then they are the wrong ones. They are probably off that '95 you mentioned...

ok so ive got the 95 headers.
ok so should i do all the legal stuff for a 95 or replace the headers with 88's and go that way?
idk if the rest of the engine is a 88, mark VIII, or 95.
